UTRGV opened the scoring in the 54th minute with a goal inside the box. UTEP responded with two goals in the 60th and 67th minutes by Lauren Crenshaw and Natalie Valentine. Crenshaw scored on a penalty kick and Valentine netted a cross by Carleigh Simmons.

The Miners conceded two goals in the 77th and 80th minutes, the latter that came by way of penalty.

UTEP Head Coach Kevin Cross said, “We made mistakes that we can fix for our next game on Friday.”

The Miners (2-2) next face off against Grand Canyon on Friday at 7PM at University Field.
