Everyone was excited and pumped about the new era and rightfully so, but last night was a rude reminder of how far we are from being a good football team (No discredit to Northern Arizona who came to the Sun Bowl and kicked axe).  The start of the game could be summed up like this for Miner fans….. D E J A – V U. Two runs on the first two plays that left the Miners with a 3rd down and then a Ryan Metz interception that led to a…

The Miners gave up two late goals in the span of three minutes and lost 3-2 against UTRGV.  The 1st half was slow paced with only two total shots on target combined between the two teams (the Miners accounted for both).  UTRGV opened the scoring in the 54th minute with a goal inside the box. UTEP responded with two goals in the 60th and 67th minutes by Lauren Crenshaw and Natalie Valentine. Crenshaw scored on a penalty kick and Valentine netted a cross by Carleigh Simmons.  The Miners conceded two…

C-USA Basketball Power Rankings: 1. Middle Tennessee (16-5, 8-1 C-USA) – Last Week #1 MTSU took care of business last week winning both games by an average margin of 27.5 points and breaking a couple of ankles on the way. If the Blue Raiders are leaving the TED with a win, someone…

Last Week: UTEP opened Conference USA against a pair of Texas schools last week in North Texas and Rice. Miners lost the opener to a good UNT team that ended up hitting some big shots down the stretch. Miners had a chance to win…
